Do you really believe in yourself?

“But you already are an entrepreneur!”

Those words shook me to my core. Me? Really? An entrepreneur? I’d never think so!

I met my friend Oly during a complex time in my life

I had just gotten back surgery, could hardly walk and was in the midst of my first company

After 3 years working hard, the growth and the money wasn’t where I expected it to be

I questioned myself. Am I really an entrepreneur? Am I really capable of doing this? Why do other people seem to have it figured out, but not me?

Oly already had a ton of success. Built his own business from scratch, found time to travel around the world and just seemed free!

After some long conversations, lunches and discussions we became good friends

One time, I confided with him

“I feel like I don’t have what it takes to be an entrepreneur”

He stared me blankly in the eye and simply said

“You already are.”

“You build systems. You discover the job to be done, teach other people, and move to the next thing. That’s an entrepreneur!”

I was caught by surprise.

My friend trusted more in me than myself!

My perspective changed completely that day. I know I have a lot to learn, but I also know my personality, perseverance and curiosity naturally lead me to entrepreneurship

Since then, Oly and I have grown a mutual friendship and mentoring.

We meet regularly to discuss not only business, but our life struggles, our victories, and to help each other

I’m extremely lucky to have people like Oly in my life! People that believe in me even more than I believe in myself
