How 10€ / month cost us 5k in 4 days

As we grow the team, we need new phone numbers and cell phones for each person
In this process, we discovered a 50% cheaper carrier.
We thought “this is awesome! With scale will be saving 100s per month”
We switched providers immediately.
Website setup was easy to do, and so we thought things would go according to plan
After 1 day, we got the SIM card and we’re ready to rock’n’roll!
We called the carrier and asked to transition to an eSIM, which they did.
After the transition, that phone number suddenly stopped receiving phone calls
We tried to reach out to support, but after 4 days the problem was never fixed.
During this time, clients would call us with questions about the payment, but would get a disconnected line
We called these clients back after we noticed the issue, but there was nothing to do
The deals were gone.
We tried to save 10€ / month. Ended up losing 5k after one 4 days.
When you’re dealing with a core activity of the business, reliability is your most important asset
Clients expect an immediate response. If you fail to deliver that, you’re dead.
I’m never again trading reliability for a couple of bucks saved
