My support team
Written by Sérgio Ferrás

The most important asset of a founder is not grit. It’s their support team.
I used to run on 12 to 14 hour workdays, only focusing on my work.
I stopped eating healthy. Stopped doing sports
But most of all, stopped looking for great connections!
I trusted my grit would be enough to get me through the hardships of entrepreneurship
And in a sense, I was right. It allowed me to endure it!
But it did not give me a way out.
I was stuck in the same endless loop.
Not believing when other people told me “there’s a better way to achieve your goals!”
I thought my way was the only way. How naive!
It all changed when I started creating a tight support group around me
People with the same mindset of creating and growing.
But those same people push me to think differently.
Remind me that every once in a while you do need to spend some time off, to recharge yourself. To reconnect with yourself
Now, I’m extremely lucky to say that I have a tight group of people that will willingly dispose of 1h of their busy days to hear out my concerns and help me out
The same way I make myself available to these people with the same intensity
Great partnerships are a 2-way street – in life, love and business
You get what you give
And since I got this, everything became way easier
When I have a bad day, I can choose one of two ways
- Either rely on my grit to keep me going (which sometimes is much required!!)
- Or call a great friend to get 10 mins of deep insight
Usually, those are the moments I make the best decisions in life

When I first started my entrepreneurial journey, I was hungry to create Engineering and finance background, loved coding Somehow I hoped I could code something that people would just buy! “Build something so good that they will come”. And so I used to only focus on the product and operations Honestl

You are your company bottleneck

I launched a couple of Google Ads, built a website and we tried to figure out what would convince clients to work with us It was hard, unpredictable. But there [&hellip
