Your identity is keeping you trapped
By Sérgio Ferrás

I Was Proud of Being the 12-Hour-a-Day Founder… Until I Realized What It Cost Me.
“I work 12h a day”
“I run all of my operations and don’t need anyone else”
“I do this better than anyone else could”
All of these things sound extremely noble. And they keep you trapped
You wanna let go of the operations to focus on marketing, but you can’t because you think only you can do it
You wanna have more time for yourself and your family, but you can’t because other people perceive you as “the hustler”
And while all that happens, you’re burning out
Thinking you’re making huge progress because you spend your time in front of the computer, but in reality you’re exhausted and stuck
I suffer from this a lot. I wanna have a better balance, but feel like I’m not good enough if I’m not putting 12h work days
I wanna build leveraged systems, but feel scared to hand off crucial operations of the business to trusted employees
All because of who I identify as.
The hardest problem is not knowing what’s next. It’s letting go of your identity!
When you stop identifying as the “12 hour day hustler” and instead identify as the person who builds with leverage?
That’s when you actually start building with leverage and aiming for the big growth
